  My husband has had a difficult time trying to find athletic shoes that don't rub blisters on his feet. He speed walks an average of 25 miles a week. I had heard that there were stores that would watch how you walk and measure different aspects of your feet. After searching online for a local store, Fleet Feet Sports was the only store that offered any type of measuring of your feet. When we arrived, we were greeted by Noah White who was a young high school aged gentleman. He was as professional as any other salesperson I've ever dealt with. Matter of fact, he took his job very serious and was genuinely interested in making sure you got the best fitting shoe. The store just recently purchased and received a machine that measures your foot for them and gathers all sorts of information. They will also email that information to you for the future. Noah chose about 5 different shoes for my husband to try on according to the machine's data. The thing I was impressed with was that he read the data and selected out the appropriate shoes for my husband. He knew the different characteristics of each shoe and brand. The machine didn't tell him which shoes to sell us. My husband tried Nike, Hoka, Saucony, and Mizuno. He tried them all on and then retried them back and forth paying special attention to how the shoe fit and differed from the others. He decided on the Hoka's because they were light weight and provided good arch support. Noah didn't tell us prices on the shoes until I asked and my husband had already decided which ones he wanted. It was then I realized that he didn't try to persuade us into the more expensive shoes. The store had a nice selection of shoes and socks and the prices were comparable to other big chain stores but with a personal touch. I know where I will buy my next pair of shoes.
